Richard Paulick was a German architect and one of the most important architects in the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
He was born in 1903 in Roßlau and worked in his early years in the environment of the Bauhaus movement.

He lived for many years in Shanghai before returning to East Germany in 1949.
He became especially well known as one of the main people responsible for the planning and construction of Halle-Neustadt, which became one of the largest modern urban projects in the GDR.

He also participated in the reconstruction of Karl-Marx-Allee and the State Opera in Berlin.
In addition, he had a major influence on the development of prefabricated concrete housing construction (Plattenbau).

He died in 1979 in East Berlin.
